Grade Levels - Atrium School accepts students in grades K-12. [Back]

Parent as Teacher - At Atrium School, we believe that students benefit from small class sizes, caring and dedicated teachers, and family selected materials and methods.  To that end, we fully support parents as teachers and endeavor to make the process as rewarding as possible for both parent and child. [Back]

Florida Attendance Requirements - Florida Statutes require that all private, parochial or public school students attend school for a minimum of 180 days per year and for the hours (or weekly equivalent) below:
Kindergarten: 3 hours per day/15 hours per week
1st - 3rd: 4 hours per day/20 hours per week
4th-12th: 5 hours per day/25 hours per week [Back]

Records Maintained - We maintain all relevant records for Fully Enrolled students, including student information and health forms, attendance reports, records forwarded to us from previous schools, grades and report cards, test scores, and transcripts. We maintain a more limited set of records for Independent Study students. Families who are interested in receiving report cards and/or having access to a transcript that will record a student's academic achievements should consider the Fully Enrolled program as these are not available in Independent Study. [Back]

Family Selected Curriculum - Enrolled families are encouraged to use the materials and methods that will best serve the needs of their student(s). To that end, Atrium School reviews the curriculum selections of Fully Enrolled students for suitability, but does not mandate the use of any particular books or methods.[Back]

Curriculum Review - We review the curriculum choices of every Fully Enrolled Student. This review, while thorough, has the built-in flexibility to meet the needs of those using structured curricula, those who are unschooling, and those who fall somewhere in between.  We can also suggest materials and approaches families may not have heard of previously. [Back]

Report Cards Issued - Report cards are issued to all Fully Enrolled students on a quarterly basis. [Back]

Grade Review - We review samples of your student's work to ensure that educational goals are on track. Families desiring an in-depth Progress Review may schedule this for an additional charge. [Back]

Credit Verification (High School Students) - Credit requirements vary depending on whether the student chooses to obtain a Standard or College Preparatory diploma. A review of completed work and accompanying records is done at the end of each semester to ensure that credit standards have been maintained. [Back]

Diploma - Fully Enrolled students who meet all of Atrium School's credit and eligibility requirements will receive a diploma based on their course of study. [Back]

Transcript - High school students in our Fully Enrolled program may request an official copy of their transcripts as needed. This is useful when applying to colleges or a job and validation of a student's educational achievements is requested. [Back]

Progress Review - A comprehensive review of the student's work, with recommendations for areas for improvement, is available for an additional charge. [Back]

Standardized Testing - Annual testing is available to all Atrium School students. We are certified to administer Standford Achievement, IOWA, and Otis-Lennon School Ability tests. [Back]

Parent-Teacher Manual - This manual spells out everything you'll need to know as a parent, teacher or student at Atrium School. [Back]

Participation in School Activities - Students are eligible to enter contests for scholarship awards, participate in support group events and activities, and more. [Back]

Florida Virtual School - Atrium School has an Articulation Agreement with the Florida Virtual School, which allows our students to take FVS classes for full credit. [Back]

Non-Discriminatory Admissions Policies - Atrium School admits students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national and ethnic origin in administration of its educational policies, admissions policies, scholarship and loan programs, and school-administered programs. [Back]

FPEA Membership - Membership in the Florida Parent Educators Association is included for the families of Fully Enrolled students. The families of Independent Study students may purchase FPEA membership through Atrium School at a reduced group rate. Details and a sign-up form are included in each family's Welcome Kit. [Back]
